I had a patient not too long ago that came to me in tears about how she was tired all day long everyday, was awake from 1-3 am nightly, her periods were super irregular and heavy when they decided to come and she was anxious and on the verge of depression because she was sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.

  • We did an inventory of her current stressors and I taught her she didn’t have to eliminate them, but rather, change how she responded to them. This an approach very few holistic practitioners take – they either tell you to eliminate stress (which who can do that?!) or give you tons of supplements to combat the stress (who wants to take handfuls of supplements?).
  • We talked about how to eat adequate amounts of food and the types of food that support healthy hormones.
  • Discussed the steps to take to get better quality sleep to support the hormonal health of her body.

She didn’t have the mentality of “I’m dreading this, but it’s what I have to do.” She followed my advice and within two weeks, she said she knew we were onto something because things were shifting, she was feeling less anxious, more hopeful and was starting to sleep better already.
