My husband and I were blessed to get pregnant after trying for just 2 months. Â I had been trying to get healthy for the past year though by getting my hormones in balance, exercising and eating healthy (not that I didn’t exercise and eat healthy before). Â I took supplements and Chinese herbs as well as did acupuncture for more balance. Â I tried to relieve my stress levels (which ultimately happened when the Spring 2012 semester ended all by itself).
We found out I was pregnant on July 3, 2012 and were both shocked and excited. Â I thought that it would take me much longer due to my history with hormone issues.
2012 has been a whirlwind of a year with finishing school, taking 3 boards, getting pregnant, making the decision to move to Denver for sure and buying our first home! Â The baby is due March 4th, 2013, so it looks like 2013 will be just as crazy (in a good way).
I plan on having as much of a natural childbirth as possible. Â I would like to attempt an unmedicated labor and delivery, but I’m not opposed to other interventions if it’s best for the baby and I. Â I have a family history of a gene mutation called Factor V Leidan that I found out I actually have during my pregnancy. Â It’s a condition where the blood clots faster than normal, so they are monitoring me for that right now and I’ll have to go on Coumadin (a blood thinner) after delivery for 6 weeks.
Thank you for following my pregnancy journey… the good, the bad, and the ugly.
