Top Five Friday Favorites

Happy 4th of July!  This is one of my favorite holidays too.  We are in Nebraska at my mom’s house and I couldn’t be happier to spend it here.  We are hanging out, BBQing, lighting fireworks and having a good time!

Here is this week’s Friday favorites!

DIY Water Blob. I think this is so cool for kids!  I would have loved this thing when I was little.  It seems relatively simple with just a few materials needed!  I think I might muster up David to try to make it with me.

Sparkler Shield.  I love doing sparklers, but I hate the little “sparkles” that hit your arms and burn.  This is a good tip for the little kids especially.

Baking Substitutions.  I always need a reminder on how to do baking substitutions.

Dairy, Gluten and Egg-Free Chocolate Cake.  I’ve been craving some baked good that actually tastes good too.  I saw this picture of this chocolate cake and my desire for that increased ten fold and then I realized that I can eat this – it was made with me in mind!

DIY Moudable Sand. I’ve been waiting for the time until Aiden would like to play in the sand and I think that maybe we’ve reached the time where he would be interested in combing through it (and probably throwing it everywhere).  This is a nice recipe to “make” sand for your little ones – just mix together 5 cups of regular flour and 1 cup of baby oil.

There you have it for the Friday favorites this week.  Everyone have a fun, healthy and safe 4th!!

Questions:

What are you doing to celebrate the 4th of July if your an American?

Any fun ideas to make for your little ones?

  1. Yes! Water blobs! A must! I love the little ones. I meant to do that last year for Aria with a trash bag. Looove the sparkler shield, shoot that is clever! I’ve been meaning to pick up some sparklers since we didn’t light any ourselves yet.
