If we were on a coffee date…
…I’d tell you what a nice weekend my little family had. Â We spent the entire thing just the three of us and I loved every minute of it. Â We ran errands, did yard work, played outside, watched movies, went to happy hour, ran, visited the Aurora ReservoirÂ and laughed a lot.
I’d tell you how happy I am that I’m getting back into running, but man it’s hard. Â At the end of every run, I am dead tired, but it’s a good kind of tiredness. Â I love being able to run again and am so excited to run another half marathon. Â It’s been far too long since I’ve raced and run those longer distances. Â I have three half marathons I’m looking at running – one in August, one in September, and one in October. Â I will probably do two of them.
I’d tell you how much I’m loving the summer weather because of all the time we get to spend outside. I love watching Aiden splash in his little kiddie pool, run around the yard and dig in the dirt. Â I am also really enjoying going to the park, go on walks and having a lot more options to do with Aiden to fill the days.
I’d tell you how funny I think my child is. Â I know every parent feels this way and I also know I say this all the time – but this is my favorite stage so far. Â He has the biggest personality and is doing and learning new things at such a rapid pace. Â He is starting to say words such as yogurt or “yakah” and babbles incessantly. Â I absolutely love his little voice.
I’d tell you that we dropped him off at a drop-in daycare for the first time on Friday while David and I went to happy hour and Costco (I know – romantic). Â It was harder than I thought to leave him because he was a little bit sad, but it went well and it’s nice to know we have a place to take him if need be. Â The only place we’ve left him is with my mom and at the gym daycare and MOPS daycare.
I’d tell you that I was lucky enough to get a free trial of Blue Apron. Â I was so excited when the big box arrived on Thursday with 3 recipes for me to make. Â I started with the meatball sandwiches that night and then I made lemon thyme turkey cutlets and ratatouille filled zucchini over the weekend. Â I have to say that it’sÂ super nice to skip the grocery store and get every ingredient delivered to you, however, they only make enough food for 2 adult meals, so there were no leftovers and they were fairy labor intensive to make. Â I spent about 2 hours from start to finish each time – a little too long for me to make consistently with a child. Â I was expecting the ingredients to be more prepped when they arrived than they were, but the meals were very tasty!
I’d tell you that work is starting to get busier with patients and I couldn’t be happier. Â I am really blessed to truly enjoy my profession as an acupuncturist and I love the setting I am practicing in. Â I hope the patients keep coming in.
I’d tell you that Aiden and IÂ are headed to Nebraska again for a long weekend from Thursday to Monday. Â My sister and her husband are coming to from Minnesota, so I couldn’t have them travel that far and not see them! Â I’m so excited for this week!
Wheew… that was a lot of thoughts today!
