TGIF! Â Today we are headed to Nebraska after David gets off work for a long weekend of running, swimming, relaxation, great food and family time. Â I can’t wait.
Today, I will most likely be running with my head chopped off trying to get my family packed, the car cleaned out and packed, the house in order and burning both Aiden and Otis’ energy so they will be content for the 3.5 hour car ride.
With that said, here is this week’s Friday favorites. Â I was feeling crafty this week!
DIY Cedar Planter Boxes. Â These planter boxes are made out of fence posts and are cheap and easy to create (apparently). Â They could be easily customizable for whatever area you want also! Â I like the idea of having one by the front door with some pretty flowers in it.
DIY Photo Clipboard. Â I’m always looking for cute ways to hang pictures also. Â I like frames, canvases and now this! Â I’m getting a big urge to redecorate Aiden’s room (actually our whole house) and transition it into bright and colorful instead of kinda dark and beige. Â When we moved into our house, I was definitely feeling the beige and I’m so not into it anymore. Â Bring on the whites, blues and greys!
DIY Etched Dish Soap Bottle. Â I use an oil bottle for my dish soap now, but I really like the idea of etching the words “dish soap” on it. Â I could see me trying to etch lots of containers if I ever do this! Â I remember when I got my hands on a labeler in middle school and our whole house was labeled.
Dirt Digging Birthday Cake. Â I think this cake is the cutest thing for little boys that love trucks and dirt (which I’m told is all little boys, right?) Aiden is getting into trucks galore and he does love his dirt too. Â I could see this being a good theme for a second birthday in 9 months – not that I’m planning ha.
Classic Roasted Salsa. Â I love making new salsa recipes and this one looks like a Mexican restaurant style one. Â Yum.
I hope you have a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend. Â I also hope that we can keep the tornadoes and severe weather at bay over here after having 3 days chock full of it. Â My Cali husband (and his good friend) don’t exactly know what to do with this!
What are you doing to celebrate Memorial Day weekend?
Any good crafts you have done lately?
