Top Five Friday Favorites

TGIF.  It’s been a busy week on our front with some highs – seeing friends and doing lots of activities – and some lows – teething accompanied with clinginess and fussiness.  We’re ready for a weekend complete with NCAA basketball and daddy being off work.

It’s time for another round of top five Friday favorites and it’s completely random (but when aren’t they!?).  Here we go:

Aiden’s Activities.  I know he is young, but we have been venturing out doing lots of things this week like going to Monkey Bizness, an indoor playground, swimming lessons, and book babies!  We see Aiden’s friends (and mom’s friends) and he gets to be exposed to lots of different stimulation and activities.  These things save my sanity too!

Spring is Here!  I know there will be the unfortunate spring snow storm, but for now, we’re enjoying spring temps complete with trips to the park and walks outside!  I love this time of year – it feels so hopeful to me.

Gluten-Free, Vegan Banana PuddingI’ve never fully mentioned my great love for pudding on here before, but it’s probably my favorite dessert and add to that banana pudding with vanilla wafers and I’m set.  The problem is that they basically only serve this at cafeteria type places now with the occasional BBQ place and they are laden with dairy and gluten, which I don’t eat.  Insert the greatest food invention ever – gluten-free, vegan banana pudding.  You better bet I’ll be trying this this weekend!  I can’t wait.

What if “the best years of your life” just aren’t…?  This article caught my attention this week and as I was reading it, I was teary-eyed.  Maybe it’s my uncontrolled hormones, or maybe it’s the fact that I had a trying week with Aiden and was taking motherhood for granted and this article brought me back to reality and made me realize how much I have to be thankful for and just how much I better cherish these baby times because I can’t get them back.

DIY Watercolor Wooden Eggs Easter Basket. Aiden is obviously too young to do these, but I think these look like fun for older kids and they are cute!  Ever since I had Aiden, I love all holiday decor and am constantly doing crafty things for each one!

There you have it – my favorites from the week.

Have a great weekend and see you Monday!

Questions:

Do you decorate for each holiday?

Are you crafty?

Is it spring weather where you live?

Anyone have any other fun activities to do with a 1 year old for me?
