{Virtual} Coffee Date

It’s been about a month and a half since we’ve done the {virtual} coffee date (here and here), so I thought I’d catch up today with some random thoughts.

If we were on a coffee date, I’d tell you that my birthday was a nice, relaxing day.  My mom drove into town for a couple of days to spend it with me and that night, my husband and I went to True Food Kitchen for dinner.  Other than it being -400 degrees, it was perfect.  I also forgot to take pictures that night:(

If we were on a coffee date, I’d tell you that I have cabin fever.  I’m tired of being stuck in the house and I really want to take Aiden places like the park, for walks outside and not be hit in the face with a wind chill when I walk out the door.  We spend our time dreaming of spring and summer over here and wondering when the snow is going to stop.

If we were on a coffee date, I’d tell you that according to weather.com, we are going to be heating up and have 50+ degree days for the foreseeable future!  This means we can resume going for car rides!

If we were on a coffee date, I’d tell you that I started running again after a looooong hiatus due to that pesky back pain and now my IT band it bothering me.  It’s never-ending.  The foam roller and I are going to become really good friends!  I have loved being more active again:)

If we were on a coffee date, I’d tell you that I’ve been getting all Aiden’s birthday decorations together and planning his 1st birthday party! EEEK.  I’ve also been scouring the internet for ways to make a healthy birthday cake without processed ingredients or too much sugar and I think I found a winner.

If we were on a coffee date, I’d tell you that Aiden cut his first tooth a couple weeks ago and he’s working on 3 more.  He randomly got his top tooth first and the bottom ones are working on coming in.  He looks so darn cute with one little pearly white.

If we were on a coffee date, I’d tell you that he are going to start Aiden in swimming lessons soon.  I can’t wait either.  It’s something that I’ve thought about doing for a long time and now is as good of time as any.  The place we are going has salt water instead of chlorine, so I’m happy about that too. This weather is already dry enough without the harsh chemicals of chlorine damaging our skin more.

If we were on a coffee date, I’d tell you that I’m excited to celebrate Aiden’s first Valentine’s Day.  I know that he has no idea what’s going on, but when you have kids, the holidays get more fun and exciting.  Plus, I’ve always loved holidays anyways.

If we were on a coffee date, what would you tell me?

Are you living in the polar vortex or is it nice where you live?

What kind of workouts are you doing this week?

  1. Oh my gosh!! I can’t wait to see his birthday party!! We’ve got Logan’s coming up and I’ve got to start getting things together! And I am with you on the cabin fever…we’re getting ready to transition down to one nap but I keep putting it off because I feel like we just can’t really go out and do much right now. Come on spring!

    • Yeah I was wondering when I should transition to one nap. Aiden is still tired in the mornings and actually does better missing his afternoon nap… is that weird? I can hardly wait to see Logan’s bday party!

  2. Aww first tooth! How exciting, other than any lame teething side effects. Love the pic of puppy and Aiden looking out the window – let’s go outside mom! I hope those 50+ days are soon and you can enjoy them.

I’d probably say Aria might be popping out a new tooth because she has been grumpy and clingy since last week. And, it is tiring. Poor kid, teething is so mean.
