Top Five Friday Favorites + {Giveaway}

We’ve enjoyed a blissful week in Nebraska at my mom’s and today we’re making the trek back to Colorado and straight up to the mountains!  I can’t wait to go up there – it’s been since last April that I was there.  We stay in Dillon, which is near Keystone and Breckenridge.  I hope there is some fresh powder there.

Here are some favorites from the week!

Mexican Quinoa with Lazy Guacamole.  I’ve been loving Mexican food lately – avocados, salt and spices.  I usually make this with rice, but the quinoa might be a welcomed change.

Home is where the heart is.  I’m a sucker for sentimental DIY projects and add glitter and I’m all in!

The Bachelor.  I honestly wasn’t going to watch this season because I knew little to nothing about Juan Pablo, but then I was browsing the TV when it was on one night and now I’m sucked in.  I never get too into the show until there are only a handful of girls left though, so it’s still too early for me to like and dislike any of the girls.

Denver Broncos. My Sunday’s have been filled with Peyton Manning on my TV for far too many Sundays now, so I’m ecstatic that they are playing in the Superbowl.  I’ve never really had a team in the Superbowl that I cared about, so this year will be fun!  I hope it’s a clean, fair game with only classy behavior (ahem Richard Sherman)!

Tulips. I’m going to say it’s okay to think that spring is on the horizon even though there very well could be snow in May in my part of the country.  I love tulips in the spring and summer!  They are so bright and cheery and you can get so many colors.  I love brightening my house with a fresh bouquet of them. tulips

It’s been voted the #1 obstacle race by Outside Magazine and is the global leader in obstacle racing since 2005.

Spartan Raceâ„¢, the global leader in Obstacle Racing since 2005, was designed by eight insane ultra athletes. If you have tried trail races, mud runs, tough mudder runs, or a warrior dash, it’s time to step up to a brutal Spartan Race obstacle course. You can tackle a Spartan Sprint, a Super Spartan, maybe even attempt a brutal Spartan Beast, but only a few of you will have the heart to graduate up to our Ultra Beast Marathon, an endurance race like NO other. Are you unbreakable?

The folks at the Reebok Spartan Race want to offer a reader a free entry code to any one of the US races in the country!

There are so many of races – there is likely to be one near you!  Here is a list of their events.  The Arizona and Las Vegas races are coming up really soon!

To enter the giveaway, please leave a comment on this post telling me if you’ve done an obstacle event before and what you liked about it!

I will randomly pick a winner on Wednesday, January 29!

  1. I did the Primal Mud Run a couple years ago and it was a blast. Easily the most challenging race I’ve done and it got me interested in the Spartan Race.

  2. I have never done an obstacle race before, but I like to run, and I like to have fun, so why not? 😉 I think it’s a great idea to challenge oneself and keep things interesting while running. Also, I never get around to registering for races myself, but I certainly would if I had a free entry code!

  3. I’ve done a spartan race before with my boyfriend. It was Chicago on vacation and it was so much fun spending time with him running it and completing all the obstacles with his help

  4. I’ve never tried a race with obstacles before but have always wanted to! I think that u must be pretty strong right now from carrying all 23 pounds of Landon around 24/7!
