How’s everyone’s week going? David got sick here and so I’ve been trying to isolate Aiden and I so we don’t get it, but I think I might be coming down with a cold. Yuck. Why do we have to get sick? You wouldn’t believe the amount of essential oils, herbs and homeopathics that I’ve been downing, so hopefully it won’t be as bad.
Anyways, during nap time this week, I found some good finds online.
Warm Apple Pie Smoothie. This recipe hits the nail on the head. I feel like smoothies are such a good way to start the day due to their high nutrient content and health benefits, but I cannot make myself drink a cold drink on a cold morning. This genius recipe solves that by heating it after you puree it. Think: apple pie filling.
Thai Peanut Chicken Quinoa Bowls. I have been having a thing for Thai food in general, but pad thai to be more specific lately. I just can’t get enough. I feel like I need to have it at least once a week lately. Kristen substituted quinoa for rice noodles in this popular dish. I think it’s calling my name this weekend.
Fresh Turmeric Tonic. My mom has been juicing for quite some time now and I always love all her concoctions. I’ve also been meaning to add turmeric to my diet due to it’s potent anti-inflammatory properties and just haven’t yet. I was going to try golden milk, but I might just try it this way first. I really am not sure what turmeric tastes like, but this tonic looks tasty and very healthy.
The 15 vows I make to my son. I found this on Babble yesterday and read it because all the information I can get on raising a son is better in my book. I’m just kinda winging it everyday, but I feel like we’re off to a good start. This is such a beautifully written piece and helped me to realize all the things I need to do as Aiden’s mama. I’m such a sap these days that I even got a little teary eyed. If you have a son – read this. Actually a lot of it can be used for daughters too.
Phone Soap Charger. I thought this was an interesting little gadget. It charges your phone while it’s UV lights sanitize it too. Phones are supposedly more dirty than a public restroom, which is disgusting. My baby loves to put my phone in his mouth, so I think the poor thing needs some soap. There you have it. I really hope I’m not getting sick, but if I am, I’ll deal. David is on the upswing, so he can take care of Aiden.
What’s everyone doing this weekend?
