Something I own: I’m grateful that we bought our house last year. There are always pros and cons of everything, but I had lived in an apartment for the past 8 years and I was ready to have a more permanent place that was fully ours, especially since we had a little bundle of joy on the way. I love our house and (mostly) everything about it. I’m proud that we could buy a house at this point in our life also.
Room: I’ve always loved my bedrooms. I’ve had a lot of them in my life, but they always make me feel secure, safe and comfortable. Not all of them have been stylish and decorated the best, but they were always “my space” especially when I was living with roommates – somewhere I could escape. Now I still love my bedroom and my bed!
A Choice: In 2010, I made the decision to pack up all my stuff, take a hiatus from the “adult” world and travel to Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand with just a backpack and the world ahead of me. In a long, twisted story, this is how my husband and I started really dating and eventually got married. I really wanted to know how other cultures lived, push myself out of my comfort zone, and find myself and I feel like I accomplished all three things. Sure, it didn’t come without consequences though. I pushed my professional life on the back burner, but I’m happy I did it still.
Book: One of the best books that actually spoke to me was “The Purpose-Driven Life” by Rick Warren. It really puts things into perspective and focuses on the big things in life that matter instead of getting caught up in the insignificant things.
What choice/room/book/something you own are you thankful for!?
