Size of Baby: Head of Lettuce (19 in., 3.9 lbs.)
Weight Gain: I didn’t weigh myself this week.
How I’m Feeling: Hmmm…I think I’m getting tired of being pregnant. I love love love feeling him kick inside of me and I think I’ll miss feeling those flutters all day, but I’m getting uncomfortable. I can’t tie my shoes anymore, shaving is impossible and just the simple act of movement is getting harder. I’m so lucky to not have back pain, sciatic pain or anything of the like though.
Sleep is still difficult. It takes a lot for me to roll over in bed. I have to pee a couple times during the night as well, so that takes away from sleep too.
I had some heartburn last week still… nothing new.
I have this weird sensation (and have for a couple weeks) where it feels like my heart is compressed with my lungs. I don’t know if its anxiety (I don’t think so?) or just the fact that my lungs are compressed. Anyways, it makes for an interesting feeling.
I discovered that I have one shirt to wear to the gym now and it was dirty, so I wore the shirt in my pictures. Needless to say, David took me to Target to get a few more shirts to get me through the remaining weeks!
Other than that, I think everything is still going the same… still tired.
Doctor’s Appointment: I had a quick appointment this week. I passed my gestational diabetes test and my iron levels are back to normal! Hallelujah! My midwife just checked the heart rate (130 bpm) and measured me and said I was good to go for 2 more weeks…
What I’m Eating: I’ve been eating a ton of cereal. I just can’t seem to get enough. I think because I’m tired and don’t feel like cooking. Food doesn’t taste very good to me right now either though. I did have a few cravings for Asian food this week and ate a homemade pad thai and then some curry. They tasted good. I also have some serious sweet cravings (think: fro-yo!). I really don’t have any real aversions though… cooked zucchini and bell peppers have been an aversion since my first trimester but sometimes I’ll choke them down in dishes if they are chopped fine enough. Salads still sound good though.
Exercise: Walking still… I walked a little bit less because of some round ligament pain. I tried to walk mostly everyday but maybe like 2.5 miles instead of 3 a couple times. Towards the end of the week, I was doing better and back to my 3 miles. I can definitely tell that some days are better than others though. Sometimes I feel like I could walk for a while longer and other days I feel like I have the weight of the world on me and can barely trudge through the park. I’m trying to keep pushing through because I really want to keep this up until the end of my pregnancy, but of course I’ll listen to my body.
Baby Purchases: My mom was in town for a couple of days and we worked a ton on the nursery. We bought some letters in his name for above the closet and made some other little pictures for the walls. We washed all the 0-3 month clothes and organized the room. We ordered some crib sheets, a valance and a crib bed skirt. It’s all coming together!!
Looking forward to: My baby shower is Feb. 2 and my birthday is Feb. 5. We are having a few people come into town for it too. I’m counting the days until that weekend.
