Happy New Years! Â I hope everyone had a fun, safe celebration last night. Â Or… if you’re like me, got lots of sleep and feel great on the first day of the year!
This year has been a bit of a whirlwind, but a good one. Â David and I did a lot of big life changing things! Â Here they are by the month:
January:Â I started my last year of school, which was exciting. Â I knew that would be the last January I would come back from Christmas vacation. Â We also visited David’s parents in Sacramento and took a day trip to San Francisco.
March: March was a quieter month. Â David and I did lots of hiking before the temperatures were unbearable in Phoenix.
April: David and I visited my sister and Dave in Minneapolis. Â My mom met us there too, so it was a great family affair. Â David had never been there, so it was fun to show him a new city! We hit up Blue Door Pub, a Twin’s game that was sadly rained out and went sightseeing through downtown and uptown.
May:Â David and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary in Sedona, AZ. Â We went for the night and stayed at a nice hotel, ate food and hung out together! Â It was a great memory from 2012.
June: We found out I was pregnant!
July:Â Our friend’s had their wedding near Sacramento, CA, so we ventured back there for that, saw David’s parents, and then went to San Francisco again for our other friend’s engagement. Â It was a whirlwind 5 days, but they were so much fun! Â I wasn’t really drinking the wine in the picture!
August: We found the house we wanted to buy. Â We looked in Denver for 3 days and put in an offer on the last house we saw and it turned out to be perfect. Â The house-buying process long distance was a bit of a pain, but this occupied a lot of my August.
September: I had my graduation from Acupuncture School. Â I wasn’t officially finished with school, but because they only hold one per year for all graduates, September is the time. Â My mom, sister and Dave all flew down for it and we stayed in a beautiful place in Scottsdale! Â It was paradise with my virgin pina colada and all.
David ran the Rock and Roll Denver half marathon, so we both came for that. Â We did some house stuff that weekend, saw my mom and our friends, Ashley and Keith.
October: I finished school!  And we moved to Denver the same day that I finished.  David’s dad and my mom helped us move and we made the transition fairly smoothly. Otis, my mom, and I made the drive together from Phoenix to Denver together in two days. I also cut about 7 inches off my hair right before we moved!
November: Â I visited my best friend in Seattle that I hadn’t seen since our wedding in May 2011. I hadn’t been up to Seattle since a year before that! Â It was so good to see her.
We also ventured up to Vancouver for the afternoon.
December: I found a place to operate my acupuncture business out of! Â I made it to my third trimester of pregnancy and celebrated Christmas two weekends with my family. Â Again, my family is notoriously terrible for taking pictures at holidays. Â I took pictures for the remainder of the year, but at holidays, I forget? Â That’s gotta be a goal for 2013!
On tap for 2013:
Aiden will make his arrival in March
I’m going to continue to build Denver Acupuncture and Wellness
I’m going to make a comeback to running and hopefully sign up for a 1/2 marathon in August!
We are traveling to California to see David’s family during the summer
AND… we have some other exciting news to come…
