I hope everyone had an amazing weekend. Â Mine was very relaxing (think: massage, naps, walks, movies). Â Yep, mine was unproductive, but I tried to tell my type A personality that was a-okay! Â I have school next weekend and the countdown is on for the semester (4.5 weeks left)! Â Woo Hoo!
David and I ventured to the Asian market on Saturday, so you’ll probably be seeing me eat quite a few asian-inspired dishes in the near future. Â We purchased:
- Rice noodles
- Peanut sauce
- Nasi goreng spices
- Spices for yellow curry
- Cooking sauce for general Tso’s chicken
- Honey Teriyaki seasoning mix
- Roasted peanut satay sauce
I think we made out good! Â We cooked some rice noodles, veggies and peanut sauce last night for dinner and had plenty of leftovers for a few more meals! Â It’s an excellent meal to re-heat.
Food Sensitivity Testing
A couple of weeks ago, I went to Southwest Naturopathic Medical Center to have a test done to figure out what foods I have sensitivities to.  I knew that I had some based on how I felt depending on what I ate, but I never really figured out exactly what the deal was with my guesswork.  They took my blood and tested for 93 foods. Here are my results!
So as you can see, I am no longer eating dairy of any kind or eggs. Â I am going to take them out of my diet for at least 6 mos. and then see if I can slowly add them back in. Â I always knew that eggs gave me indigestion and dairy didn’t set well with me too, so it might be a more permanent thing too. Â We’ll just have to see. Â I am also trying not to do much whole wheat, spelt, or pecans either. Â I want to clear my system right now of the things that are aggravating it. Â I thought this was going to be really hard, but so far it hasn’t been terrible (it’s only been 5 days). Â A lot of restaurants and food companies cater to people with food allergies now, so there are options. Â Corn and rice products are totally fine, which makes Mexican and Asian food easy! Â I’ll keep updating with this information. Â If you are interested in this, go here to see what food sensitivities are all about!
On another note, today is the anniversary of my dad’s death 8 years ago. Â There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of him and I think I can speak this for my family as well. Â I find comfort in that he is still in my dreams all the time. Â This is always a tough day for our family. Â He was a great person and an even more wonderful dad. Â We miss you greatly!
