Food Sensitivity Testing

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend.  Mine was very relaxing (think: massage, naps, walks, movies).  Yep, mine was unproductive, but I tried to tell my type A personality that was a-okay!  I have school next weekend and the countdown is on for the semester (4.5 weeks left)!  Woo Hoo!

David and I ventured to the Asian market on Saturday, so you’ll probably be seeing me eat quite a few asian-inspired dishes in the near future.  We purchased:

  • Rice noodles
  • Peanut sauce
  • Nasi goreng spices
  • Spices for yellow curry
  • Cooking sauce for general Tso’s chicken
  • Honey Teriyaki seasoning mix
  • Roasted peanut satay sauce

I think we made out good!  We cooked some rice noodles, veggies and peanut sauce last night for dinner and had plenty of leftovers for a few more meals!  It’s an excellent meal to re-heat.

Food Sensitivity Testing

A couple of weeks ago, I went to Southwest Naturopathic Medical Center to have a test done to figure out what foods I have sensitivities to.  I knew that I had some based on how I felt depending on what I ate, but I never really figured out exactly what the deal was with my guesswork.  They took my blood and tested for 93 foods. Here are my results!

So as you can see, I am no longer eating dairy of any kind or eggs.  I am going to take them out of my diet for at least 6 mos. and then see if I can slowly add them back in.  I always knew that eggs gave me indigestion and dairy didn’t set well with me too, so it might be a more permanent thing too.  We’ll just have to see.  I am also trying not to do much whole wheat, spelt, or pecans either.  I want to clear my system right now of the things that are aggravating it.  I thought this was going to be really hard, but so far it hasn’t been terrible (it’s only been 5 days).  A lot of restaurants and food companies cater to people with food allergies now, so there are options.  Corn and rice products are totally fine, which makes Mexican and Asian food easy!  I’ll keep updating with this information.  If you are interested in this, go here to see what food sensitivities are all about!

Personal

On another note, today is the anniversary of my dad’s death 8 years ago.  There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of him and I think I can speak this for my family as well.  I find comfort in that he is still in my dreams all the time.  This is always a tough day for our family.  He was a great person and an even more wonderful dad.  We miss you greatly!
