Almond Butter Banana Oatmeal

Okay , so today is Tuesday and lately on Tuesdays, I’ve been running.  Today was no different…  I went for a 3 mile run doing the Galloway method.  Today, however, in an effort to keep working up, I ran for 4 minutes – walked for 1 minute.  I actually noticed the minute difference, which I didn’t really think I would.  Since, I’m running in Vibram’s, I noticed that my calves were screaming by the end!  I was going to actually run 4 miles, but decided to be smart for the first time in training and stop.

When I got home, oatmeal was calling my name.  I have been lazy time crunched lately, so I’ve been microwaving my oatmeal and today I made it on the stove.  Oh my gosh… I forgot how much better stove-top oatmeal was than microwave.  I thought that I was outgrowing the taste of oatmeal, but definitely not.

I added in a dollop of almond butter, chia seeds, 1/4 of a banana, and a tad of stevia.  My tummy was happy.

I also found my favorite homemade drink… iced chai tea latte.  I always knew that I loved them, but I found a way to make them for myself that I actually like!

Mix a scoop of the mix with 2 oz. hot water, then add 6 oz. cold water/almond milk/milk and ice cubes and there you have it!  Voila!
